If Dracula Untold was really meant to launch the Universal Monsters crossover universe at Universal Pictures, this is a terrible, rotten picture. There are not nearly enough Dracula films, so it is a retelling of one of his origin stories in the form of a short film. Directed by Gary Shore, it stars someone who looks like a cross between a modern version of Dracula and an old-school vampire movie. It was with great joy and anticipation that I greeted the world in Dracula Untold, which is not actually a remake of the original Dracula, but tells the genesis of the famous character. While sexy vampires have been on everyoneвЂ™s lips in pop culture in recent years, this is the sequel to the critically-acclaimed Dracula 2000, and it ticks all the boxes to be released in the sure-fire big Hollywood days. This is supposedly the story of how he became Dracula, or the вЂњprince of darkness,вЂќ and so begins the story of our tortured antihero and his quest for revenge against the evil Dracula.
